Where?

Callie grew up in a greenbelt in Woodinville, Washington. Since then, she has lived in various places, including three years in Hawaii, and currently lives in Gig Harbor, Washington.

What led to Performance Coaching?

Some of Callie’s first tastes of the potential benefits of performance coaching came as a competitive collegiate volleyball athlete. There were days Callie felt she could play out of her shoes, completely untouchable. Then, other days it was as if she didn’t know how to tie her shoes and she was a total mental mess. Due to this experience and her education over the years, she has grown to appreciate and coach the larger and more important aspects of performance; it’s not just about the sport, it’s about human thriving.

Once, in graduate school, she wrote a paper with which she knew her professors would disagree and possibly reprimand her. As expected, she was called into the office the next day. However, instead of being reprimanded, she was congratulated on her authenticity, bravery, and overall “Callie-ness.”

Philosophy on performance coaching?

Callie brings this very idea into her own coaching, having seen and experienced the value of living as our authentic selves, and she encourages her clients to be creative and experiment until they find what allows them to reach their true potential. She feels her clients are the driver of their interactions together as coach and client, so while she brings structure, ideas, experience, and knowledge to the table, she is always open to taking a sharp left turn and going ina different direction if need be.

Callie’s favorite day in performance coaching is the day she gets fired from the coaching position. This is for two reasons: first, it means she is no longer needed and that her client’s wants have been fulfilled. Second, it indicates her and her client had the type of relationship where they could tell her, “it’s over.”

Philosophy on success?

Callie feels there is a type of motivation that burns from a deep place inside of us, the kind that makes us feel alive, even when we know it’s time to fall asleep; a kind of motivation that makes us feel wildly driven to do something. It causes us to withstand pain, anxiety, failure, and big risks to do whatever we can to get “there.” She feels that finding that type of motivation and matching it with what someone really wants is an important component in the recipe for success.

Callie lives a personal philosophy of wanting to make a positive mark on the world that screams, “That was so Callie” while simultaneously asking herself, “Did I have a blast?” If she feels she can wholeheartedly say yes to both of those questions, she feels she is living well.

Loves and likes?

Callie describes herself as curious, adventurous, and “earthy”, which can clearly be seen through how she has lived her life. She spent three years in Hawaii using an integrated holistic approach with young adults ages 18-24, guiding them in nutrition, physical activity, farming, psychoeducation, and individual and group therapy. She was the supervisor of this program, and was personally responsible for the safety and therapeutic progress of roughly 30 young adults. Callie continues to adventure through life as much as she can, and recently climbed Mt. Rainier in the Summer of 2021.
